Cox off to Canberra

If you have had to opportunity to meet Alyssa Cox, on or around the football field, you will understand that she is a determined and talented athlete, and this dedication is about to be rewarded with a trip to Canberra to represent Queensland at the National Championships.

2017 saw Cox splitting her time between junior premier age division commitments and the challenge of playing above her age group in the TFL open senior women competition with the Honeybears. While 2018 has seen her covering thousands of kilometres as she has participated with South West Thunder in the National Premier League and attended coaching and selection sessions for the QLD team.

Although currently the leading goal scorer in the NPL, Cox had an anxious wait, as selectors delayed announcing the team at the original time. However of course once the news came through she, and her supportive family, were ecstatic.

We wish Alyssa the best of luck and look forward to hearing more about her footballing journey.
